Kin ("the App") is developed by ED AI, a UK-based micro business. This Privacy Policy explains how Kin handles information. We designed Kin with privacy at its core: your personal data stays on your device.

Summary

• Kin does not require an account or login.
• All app data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Kin does not include third-party analytics, advertising tracking, or account syncing in this build.
• We do not collect personal data from you.

Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is created and stored locally on your device only. It is never sent to ED AI or any third party:

• People names and roles
• Selected participants for conversations
• Profile photos and generated avatars
• Conversation progress and streak rewards
• Custom questions you create
• Answer notes, summaries, and feedback
• Daily reminder preferences

Permissions

Microphone and Speech Recognition: If you use speech transcription, Kin requests microphone and speech recognition permission. Speech recognition is configured to use on-device recognition where available. Audio is not sent to ED AI.

Apple Intelligence:On supported devices, Kin may use Apple system frameworks (such as Foundation Models and Image Playground) for features like avatar generation. These features run through Apple's on-device intelligence where available. Kin includes fallback UI for devices, regions, languages, or accounts without Apple Intelligence support.

Photos: If you choose to add a profile photo, Kin accesses your photo library only to select an image. Photos remain on your device and are not uploaded.

Data We Do Not Collect

In this build, Kin does not:

• Collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers
• Use third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs
• Track you across apps or websites
• Require or support account creation or cloud sync
• Collect payment information (purchases are handled entirely by Apple)

Purchases

Kin Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles all payment information. ED AI does not receive or store your payment details. Subscription products include edai.kin.pro.monthly and edai.kin.pro.yearly.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete all local app data at any time from Settings within the App. Deleting the App from your device also removes all locally stored data.

Children

Kin is designed for use by couples and families. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. All data remains on the device of the person using the App.

Changes to This Policy

If we add features that change how data is handled (such as cloud sync, analytics, or account login), we will update this policy before those features are released. The updated policy will be available at this URL.
